Bridal Shower: I Wanna Love Ya

My cousin Aaron and his bride-to-be Kelsey like Bob Marley so “I wanna love ya” just had to be the inspiration. The party printables we created had a fun whimsical feel and utilized pops of color on a dark black background.

The invite is available on Etsy – I think it would work for a bridal shower, engagment party, rehearsal dinner invite or even a save the date. Contact me if you are interested in any of the party decor.

I was so happy with how the flowers turned out! When I went to the flower market, I was beyond happy that ranunculus were in season (the inspiration behind the floral in our printables). I balanced their bright colors with white tulips, white lilacs and succulents for a fun whimsical feel.

Rustic, Winter Wonderland Bridal Shower

This past weekend I had the pleasure of styling a bridal shower for a friend getting married this holiday season. The event kicked off a month full of wedding festivities. The theme was a rustic, winter wonderland — or as we called it, a wedding wonderland!

Custom signs said, "It's beginning to look a lot like a wedding!"

Custom banners were created for the floral arrangements. This one read: Tis the Season to be married!

Yellow & Pink Floral Bridal Shower

Excited to finally post pictures from this bridal shower featuring my Party Mums prints in Sunshine Pink!

The Top 3 tips you can learn from this shower:

  1. Vase Wraps: Wrap your vases with different pattern papers to add strong pops of color throughout your party. We used  6 coordinating prints from our Party Mum Collection, but you could use any scrapbooking paper. We printed our paper and then trimmed to size for each vase — well really “each container,” as we used soup cans and spaghetti jars! Each jar held 3-6 tulips (they were on sale at Trader Joes at the time for only $3.50 for 10 stems!!!). We then topped each jar off with white paper grass. (You can purchase the papers via our Party Mum Collection Accessories on Etsy. Full-sheet pattern papers are only available as part of the full collection.)
  2. Love Fortunes:  Do something personal. We made origami hearts using our custom printed papers. This time we printed the paper double-sided in different prints to add interest and contrast. Because it was a bridal shower, inside each heart we placed a love bible verse. We placed a heart at each place setting.
  3. Photo Booth: Create an area with photo props so guests can take pictures with the bride. Our booth also acted as the perfect spot for the bride to open her gifts. My favorite part was the fabric banner we borrowed from my friend Sada – thank you Sada!!! So amazing!

Different vase wraps add pops of color and pattern throughout the party! Also allows you to use any jar or soup can for a vase.

Creating an area for a photo booth made sure everyone got their picture with the bride.

Shower Ideas Inspired by Football Season!

Who says a bridal shower has to be a formal tea or a baby shower has to be just for the girls? I say a party should not be shaped by rules but by the guest-of-honor and what will make her happy. With football season here and my Buckeye’s off to a fun, yet rocky start, I thought I’d post a couple of past showers I did that were both inspired by the guest-of-honor’s love of sports.

Party #1 is perfect for a college-football crazed bride. If you’re not familiar with the Ohio State/Michigan Rivalry or College Gameday this invite idea is going to go over your head, but I promise if you are familiar with them you will laugh just like the guests and bride-to-be did. See more pictures on our website.

Party #2 is a great idea for a couple’s baby shower. Guests were invited to a Baby Pep Rally and the Pom-Pom Pennant invite asked them to come prepared by wearing their favorite team colors.

Update! I found the original invite. Here’s the wording:

TEAM CAZARES is preparing to sign on a new recruit.

Join us at the BABY PEP RALLY to cheer on MICHELE and STEVEN as they get ready for the BABY DRAFT.

With their first round pick they are looking to score a healthy baby boy to round out their family’s team.

We have a strong feeling he’s going to be ROOKIE-OF-THE-YEAR.

Show your support by dressing in your favorite team colors.

Simple, yet appropriate, decorations were created with primary-color steamers, balloons, pom-poms and megaphones, all topped off with a “Baby Cazares is #1” Pennant Banner. We also created a sports themed diaper cake that was a big hit with both the guys and gals at the party. And don’t forget the peanuts and crackerjacks. Now play ball!
